Sandy Meadows is a privately owned public nine-hole golf course, owned and operated by the Barth family.
For the Barths, owning Sandy Meadows is about more than maintaining a golf course. It's about continuing a family tradition and providing a quality place for the community to enjoy the game.

Christel's Story
A Love of Golf That Became a Family Tradition
“I never played golf before. After our daughter was born, Alan bought me clubs for my birthday and then taught me how to play. We've been playing together ever since. Both of our kids play golf.”
Arlin and Cheryl, the original owners of Sandy Meadows, are family members. When Alan and Christel purchased the course from them, they chose to continue the family tradition.
Course History
From Pasture Land to Sandy Meadows
The story of Sandy Meadows began with Arlin and Cheryl Stuhr and a love of golf they wanted to share with their community.
Mid-1980s
The Course Begins
Arlin and Cheryl Stuhr purchased what was then pasture land. Arlin built the golf course while also teaching and farming.
Built Together
Family & Community
Arlin's brother, Alan, helped build the course alongside local farmers, turning the pasture into a place the community could come to play.
Mid-1990s
From Sand to Grass
Sandy Meadows originally opened with sand greens. In the mid-1990s, the course made the transition to grass greens.

Built From a Love of the Game
Arlin and Cheryl loved to golf. On weekends, they would sometimes have someone cover Sandy Meadows so they could go play other courses themselves.
Their goal was to share that same love of the game with people in the surrounding community. Decades later, that remains an important part of what Sandy Meadows is about.

The values Sandy Meadows was built around continue today.
Meet Allison
A 1952 Allis-Chalmers With a Story of Its Own
Original owner Arlin Stuhr mowed Sandy Meadows with this 1952 Allis-Chalmers tractor.
Today, Alan Barth still uses the tractor to help water the golf course. His daughter affectionately calls it “Allison.”
